Year 2 Trips, Visitors and Events

At Savile Park Primary we enrich the curriculum for our children by offering a range of educational visits and other activities that add to and complement what they learn in school. There are also a number of people who visit the school to support our work. Some visits relate directly to areas of learning for individual classes, whilst others relate to all our children.

Summer Term 2018

The Deep

As scientists the children are learning about ocean habitats and what different animals need to survive.
They are also classifying and sorting different living things based on their properties and characteristics.

Spring Term 2018

Science Mini-beast Hunt

Today we’ve been on a minibeast hunt. The girls are fascinated by all bugs and insects and not the least bit squeamish.

Shibden Hall

On Wednesday 7th March Pelicans and Puffins visited Shibden Hall as part of their topic. They learnt about what life was like for rich and poor children in the era of Anne Lister (19th century.) The children all dressed up in the clothing of servants and took part in Victorian laundry, cleaning and cooking duties!

Practical Pedestrian Training

Children in pelicans and puffins classes took part in Practical Pedestrian Training at both site this week. They used the Green Cross Code to help them cross the road. They were also given an activity workbook.
