Headteacher: Mrs J Boylan
Reception children learn through a play based curriculum where they are given the opportunity to talk, observe, plan, question, experiment, test, repeat, reflect and respond, independently, with peers or with adults. The EYFS provides children with the skills they need to progress onto Key Stage One which includes Year One and Year Two. The staff across these stages of development work closely together to ensure your child has the best possible experience of education right from the start.
Hesketh Farm Park
Reception went on a fantastic trip to Hesketh Farm Park. We started with a really exciting coach trip where we saw lots of animals as we traveled through the countryside. When we arrived we had lots of activities to do such as feeding the lambs and calves, collecting the freshly laid eggs, cuddling and brushing the guinea pigs, checking on all the animals on a paddock walk and we even went on a tractor ride to help the farmer count all his sheep and cows. We had a brilliant day and learnt lots about animals, their babies and how to look after them. All of Reception were brilliantly behaved and we all had a superb time.
Wren children have been out in the new garden this afternoon at Heath.
