September 2016 – Jerusalem Farm
The children visited as part of the topic looking at habitats include upland stream, upland oak woodland/wet woodland, and grassland/meadows.
26.09.16 Police came to visit both sites today to explain their role of helping people. The children dressed up in uniform and looked inside a police van.
03.10.16 Children from both sites took part in a Food to Fork workshop with Mrs Smith from Tesco’s. They talked about different foods and where they came from.
14.10.16 Both sites joined together to have a fruit party. They talked about different fruits and made a fruit salad together. Some of the children hadn’t ever tried some of the fruit.
31.01.17 Teddy Takes a Tumble
Year 1 children spent the morning learning about the importance of wearing a seatbelts and sitting in an appropriate car seat. Poor old teddy took several tumbles whilst teaching us how to be safe.
February 2017 – Staff from the Piece Hall came into school to do a workshop on a Shape Safari.
28.02.17 Children from Foundation and class 1 enjoyed the retelling of the well-loved Norwegian fairy tale. Three billy goats are trying to get from one side of the river to the other to eat some delicious-looking grass. Our children were lucky to take part in the show. The Three Billy Goats Gruff was packed full of live music, beautiful puppets.
Anti-bullying Week was a great success with children working with year 6 children in a workshop.
March 2017 – Class one visited St Jude’s Church as part of their learning other religions topic. Richard and Audrey explained about different parts of the church.
