Headteacher: Mrs J Boylan
Once again Rotary took some of our hard working and resilient children to Lightwater Valley. We all had an absolutely fantastic day (including the adults). When we arrived we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome from all the volunteers. We managed to go on lots of rides and the confidence of the children sky rocketed as the day went on. New friendships were developed throughout the day through a mutual fear of big rides, or through supporting each other to be confident and try new things. Some of the children even had to help the teachers who were scared. Miss Lomas did not like the dinosaur roller coaster, Mr Laycock was not happy on the Claw ride and all the adults and children laughed at Miss Black’s face on the pirate ship. We had lots of speaking and listening opportunities with children sharing their experiences and opinions on rides with each other and the caring side came out of our Year 6s who looked after some of the younger children brilliantly. It was a super day and the children gained a lot from the experience both socially and emotionally. We are really proud of all of the children, there isn’t enough room to mention everyone individually but they all were an absolute credit to the school.
